The Family Pantry has many different volunteer job positions. The main positions at The Family Pantry are food distribution and warehouse stocking. The Family Pantry has positions on the sales floor and backroom. Volunteers who work the backroom should be able to lift 25 pounds. There are many things you can do:
- Stock shelves
- Computer intake
- Pick up food donations
- Distribute food to guests
- Inventory
- General maintenance
- Greet new and returning guests and assist with application process
- Serve as interpreter
- Assist with referrals to other agencies
- Sort and bag donations
- Help with fundraising events
- Deliver to home bound guests
If you can’t volunteer at the pantry, but would still like to help, you could hold a fundraiser or a food drive, for instance.

Can I come as an individual?
Absolutely! We seek individuals who can commit to a regular schedule of volunteering one 3 hour shift each week. All volunteers fill out a simple application. Fill out the form below to apply. If you have any questions, please contact our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@damiensfoodpantry.org.
Can we come as a group?
Yes, groups can work on assigned tasks in the pantry or special projects in the warehouse.
Can The Family Pantry accommodate volunteers with special needs?
We evaluate all special needs situations individually, but we are happy to try and accommodate specials needs.
Can I do my community service at The Family Pantry?
Yes, we accept school or church community service applicants, however individual approval is required.
What should I wear to volunteer?
Attire for most of the volunteer positions is appropriate comfortable clothes with The Family Pantry t-shirt, a name tag, and close-toed shoes.
Is there an age restriction?
Yes, our volunteers need to be 15 years old, we work in a large warehouse and safety is a priority.
